I am a biologist and naturalist, writer and photographer, but most of all a lover of nature. I live on 130 rural acres in eastern Ontario, surrounded by woods and meadows that are my inspiration. I try to hike our land nearly every day, and I always carry my camera with me. I enjoy sharing my discoveries at my blog.

I am a soon-to-be-published reference guide co-author of a new field guide to moths, with friend and fellow moth-lover David Beadle. I am also an aspiring author of both literary nonfiction and young adult fiction, and have been working on draft material in both of these categories. Though I did my schooling in zoology and spent several years working as an ornithologist (something I still love), when I discovered writing a couple of years ago I knew I’d found my passion.
